How we distinguish the origins of evidence
- Official sourcesOriginal public statistics, registries, regulations, and documents.
- Trade groups, chambers, and associationsInformation from professional organizations and sector context.
- Press and mediaReporting with identifiable authorship, dates, and origins.
- Forums, communities, and reviewsExperiences and accounts that require context and cross-checking.

- Discovery toolsA way to find information, which does not replace the origin of a claim.
Six evidence classes, plus tools for finding them. Two publications repeating the same data are not two independent pieces of evidence.
Every conclusion should be traceable to its origin.
We retain the claim, document, supporting passage, date, and limits. When a source does not support an idea, the record allows us to correct it or stop pursuing it.
A number changes when its population changes.
